Fireplace Ideas!!
We can't decide what to do with the fireplace. We want to put in a stove and originally thought a floating stove would work but then decided it wouldn't quite link with the space around it. The room is large and modern, but have got underfloor heating so it's more of a feature then a heat source. Would a contemporary mantlepiece look out of place with picture/mirror above or could we build out around the fireplace and put an alcove in above it. Any other ideas/recommendations? The walls in the room are white with a dark grey carpet.

I recently plastered over a monster of a fireplace and decided to keep my quarry tiles even though my husband hated them. they now look right with the smooth plaster and we are glad we kept them. Comments (6)I don’t think the brass is the issue tbh. I’m not sure the surround colour works that well with the back piece of the fire nor too well with the wall. Do you have something red/pink in the room that is reflecting on the left hand side of the pic as it looks much pinker in that corner? 5 years agoHere are a few ideas for modernising the fire place but with a less is more feel, I've not seen a fire place in that sort of location with the windows either side, but I personally love them and would make it a key feature in the room
