How about built in shelves that come out to the angle of somewhere near the shadow line. Then a series of longer/deeper storage baskets in complementary colours that give you masses of extra storage space for stuff that is not normally needed daily.

Hello, MMMmm! Interesting! As previously said it does depend on what is going on around the rest of the kitchen. Is it a "triangular" kitchen or rectangle with a this odd bit ? But looks like it could be a prep area that extends to the window. Underneath a built in bin and recycling. On the walls cookery books but put a mirror behind and on the adjacent walls to reflect the light into the room. That window ???? Do you have the budget to move the window to the other wall? If not, look at your lighting. You could also make shelves across and parallel to the window for plants, herb plants and even small potted vegetables. Put a mirror behind them too. Make the shelving concave so softens the area. If you like mirrored tiles or glossy tiles, silvers, metallics, use these to reflect light. You can also get large acrylic/perspex panels that can do this and mirrored acrylic/ perspex too which is lighter in weight. If storage and space is an issue, depending on your taste, the look you want, think about sliding doors, no doors, swing up doors or tambour doors. Also a bespoke kitchen can be the same price as an off the shelf, depending on the look and the carcasses are essentially the same so you can mix and change to save. I hope this helps. Morning, I too prefer the sink on the left but.... as I've measured the alcove wrong and can't fit in a sink and dishwasher together as I had planned, I cant find a way of putting the sink in the alcove now (which is 1290 long) and not losing the corner cupboard? Ie sink could go in the corner which would be easier but I need to also fit in a water heater for it (so need to access it or can these go in cupboards above??) and the dishwasher. If I put the hob on the main run then I need more than 800 space in the walkway no? That means a shorter depth peninsular and then I can't put cupboards under there and have seating. argh. It's driving me insane, haha. See new pic below. I had to offset the hob across the width so leaving the space to the left required by regs. It's not ideal but means I can access all the corner cupboard then.
