Hi there, Considering how low your ceilings are, I would suggest placing spot lights strategically rather than in a grid formation. This means placing the lights in the right places and where you would need them. I also recommend a dimmer switch. Lighting is really important in the home if you are getting your ceiling plastered then I recommend you get this right first time as it extremely difficult/messy to move lighting once your ceiling has been done! From my experience it’s most likely the wrong dimmer for the job. If your electrical has installed something that is not fit for purposes then don’t pay him until he has. If you later have problems then you will have to have him back but you might never need to.

When we got our rooflights we also got a piece of trim that neatens the edge. It was sold by the rooflight company, glazing vision.
