kitchen layout ideas
Comments (8)An idea, one of many. First I've widened the utility to 150cm, so the toilet could rotate and thus be narrower, which allowed a wider utility. All this would 'cost' you 30cms of kitchen. L-shaped kitchen with fridge and oven on the side (personally I prefer built in fridges, but in your scetch is an american model, right?), turned the nibs into a cupboard (glass doors? some lights in there?). Peninsula without stools, the shallow units make up for the lack of uppers (one upper unit next to the hob, not shown in my floorplan). Added some extra units on the left wall, but a buffet would probably look nicer. (to return a favour paypal.me/rinkedit)...See MoreKitchen Layout Ideas Welcomed!
Comments (0)Hi all. Looking to make better use of our ground floor configuration whilst also having a new kitchen. Below is the latest architect drawing and just suggestion for kitchen layout. We had originally planned to chop into garage but budget will not allow it so need to make best use of the existing kitchen space. We do want a peninsula for three but aside from that open to ideas. All suggestions are welcome and appreciated!...See MoreKitchen layout ideas?
Comments (11)Yes, much better :) I like the utility opening up from the kitchen. I agree with CWD about converting that window (EDIT: in the new utility room) into a door. Maybe a sliding door, if possible, to save space on the door swing. I also agree with generally converting existing doors into windows, and window into doors, where suitable. I also don't think it makes sense to keep the old larder/WC. The location and dimensions aren't practical and it interferes with getting an optimal kitchen. As for the hob, it isn't nearly as practical, clean, or safe, on the island as having it against the wall, especially given such a spacious kitchen! I might consider a "prep" sink on the island to get a comfortable Fridge->sink->hob work triangle, although two sinks require more plumbing and maintenance than one. The fireplace on the original plan, is that still there? Or are you planning to remove it? I do like how you positioned your dining table with the bench against the wall....See MoreKitchen layout ideas
Comments (7)What about layout options without reconfiguring any interior walls, other than the wall between the kitchen and downstairs WC? It would be good to see if there's a way of improving the kitchen layout without interfering with the rest of the downstairs, or at least doing so as little as possible. I'd thought about changing the back door and windows to rethink the kitchen layout. Possibly move the door through from the kitchen to the hallway (heading towards the WC) to somewhere else along that wall (where the cooker currently is) to give more chance of a run of wall units. Don't want to lose the downstairs WC but open to moving it, reconfiguring it, changing layout etc. There's just so many things to consider and we're trying to find a way of getting what we want without destroying half the house for the next 6 months 😂...See More- 6 years ago
