Have you got a good extractor ? If you only have a recycle fan - I’d suggest go for a wipeable sofa feather than fabric .

I agree with OnePlan but would add that if you regularly have your carpet cleaned they can also clean your soft furnishings.
My carpet guy also cleans the oven..... bonus!

Hi Sonia, I was struggling to post before so tried photos on their own! I've just seen that you swapped the table :)

I think you can make the other sofa work but if you want a new one I would consider the Ikea ektorp which has washable covers and works with a modern country style. I like the first image, I think all of the fabrics are harlequin, I've also found a cushion version of the blind on eBay but it won't let me load the image..

As it's a reading corner have you considered swapping the sideboard and a bookcase? The last 2 images are just showing a bookshelf behind and to the side of a sofa rather than style. Ikea also do a light beige version of the sofa which looks to have a red undertone, it would be good to know what the cream units look like. You could also consider that with navy and dirty pink cushions but that might mean painting the pale blue walls an off white but the "red" undertones would flow through from the living room

Thank you Minnie. I’ve had a nightmare with uploading photos too. Sometimes when I hit submit everything disappears! . Very annoying! Some great ideas as always. The table/sofa swop is really working and we are eating at the table every day whilst watching reruns of Garden Rescue of Escape to the Country, or the dreaded news........:-( and the sofa in the kitchen is a triumph. Who knew so many birds visited the bird feeders, just lovely. i‘ve actually ordered a budget mid grey sofa which is coming on Thursday, but of course if it’s not comfy it will be going back! I’ll try and upload photos of the kitchen units which are at the other end of the room.

I think it’s easier to post photos of a lower ‘grade’. What I’ve done successfully in the past is take a screenshot of the photo, crop it and then post the screenshot.

E D its all on a previous post where I ask would I be mad to get rid of my dining table etc. In the end I swopped the dining table with a sofa and it’s really working so much better for us. The only reason I’m getting a new sofa (only a cheapie) is the swopped one is very traditional and I’m not sure it works in the kitchen. Bought online so we‘ll see what we think when it gets here! This is current sofa with the navy wall.

You could also perhaps keep your current sofa and use a large (green?) throw to completely cover.

I loved the emerald green but I felt it was more suited to a cosy, rather plush sitting room than a kitchen, but it would look stunning against the navy. E D I’m not keen on large throws over a sofa. They look a bit too “bed for the dog” for my liking! We‘ll see what the grey one looks like. It is velvet so will be jolly cosy but fingers crossed it is comfy! :-)

Sure. Maybe do what minnie did. A plant in place of the glass bowl. This will ‘obscure’ the printer.

I don't use it loads but of course it is so useful and it scans and photocopies too. I’m thinking maybe it could go in one of the bedrooms.........

Sonia we have our printer in a cupboard & just leave the cupboard doors open during use.

Update: Lamp, cushions and plant in place. Printer stayed where it was simply because no space anywhere else, but I’ve closed it up so it’s not so obvious, I hope! Thanks again for all your advice.
