LVT or engineered wood
Comments (11)We understand your concerns about maintaining wood flooring throughout so many rooms. And enjoying a beautiful wood floor in your home can mean taking a little extra care. However, there are some easy ways you can look after your floor to improve its longevity. Here's a guide that covers the key things which can help to keep your wood floor in tip-top condition. The main things to be aware of are cleaning up spills quickly and and taking care with how much the floor is exposed to sunlight. Simple things like rugs/runners can help to protect wood in high-traffic areas and placing furniture strategically can help to shade. We'd agree that oiled is easier to touch-up. Although, you may want to consider that lacquered floors are more hardwearing. Here's a video guide to the benefits of each floor finish. I hope that helps but please feel free to get in touch with us at Woodpecker if you'd like any further advice. Comments (11)thanks for the replies. And for the photos- it's nice to see it in a whole room. I'd love the herringbone but husband hates it. The rooms are all pretty big I think my fitter likes the diagonal design as he has it in his home! I am very much leaning towards the border where we have skirting (pretty much everywhere aside from the kitchen area and utility room) as it does look much more finished And I do really like the diagonal pattern- if I can't have the herringbone I'll try and persuade hubbie to go with this!...See Morehow to choose colour of LVT flooring
Comments (37)Bonkers… aaaarrrggghhh! We don't know what to say, Tani. Not acceptable but this trade of ours is poor at this sort of thing. Mind you, you do get them FOC. Paint… there's another story. Have to pay £5+ for a weeny sample pot. Delays are flippin' annoying but much better to make sure you are certain about your choice. We don't have a display unit in our showroom (drat!) otherwise we'd suggest you come and have a look whilst sipping on one of our exceptionally decent coffees....See MoreCarpet or LVT / amtico effect?
Comments (6)I think the bleachable carpets are made from polypropylene. I think they tend to be at the cheaper end of the market versus wool for example but the downside (as far as I’m aware) is they get flattened easily. I think oil based substances are difficult to remove whereas it’s easier on wool carpets ( wool tends to be naturally dirt repellant although supposedly that’s only for oil based substances). When I was choosing carpet for bedrooms last year, the shop Manager said one of his fitters replaced his polypropylene carpet every 2/3 years. He loves the look and feel (some are really quite lovely and soft) but when it looks a little worn he replaces it but much easier when you get trade discount and no fitting charges! I confess I’m not a huge carpet fan as i love wood but much depends on lifestyle. If you don’t wear shoes, eat, drink etc in the room and hoover regularly, including round the skirting boards, then any carpet should be fine. I personally like the warm look of wood/wood effect combined with a rug. Some of the LVT’s will also bounce light around which carpets tend not to...See MoreDaisy England
