Hi Angelina. The layout, I'm sure, will be very much determined by the current plumbing, as moving this around can become costly.

Without seeing the finishes and bathroom suite you intend to use, it's hard to comment. However, based on what you have provided, have you considered some built-in cabinetry on the sink wall or a nice vanity unity rather than the stand alone sink?

There is no plumbing at the moment. It will be a newly added bathroom directly above the kitchen, so it is a plank canvas. We've only built the walls so far.
Yes, I am planning on using a vanity unit and possibly a tall unit as well. Or a long woode counter type thing. Still deciding on the decor and colours.

In that case my only thought would be, do you want to have the toilet facing the door? When walking past the bathroom, is that the first thing you want to see?

Hi Sarah,

I really didn't want the toilet to be the first thing you see in front of you. That was actually the first argument I made, too. I thought vanity in front of you and wc and bidet on the right. But after some talking with my family, we thought there may not be enough room for the toilet (floorplan isn't correct - there's 10cm less behind the door than it is written here).

Bathroom dimensions are 185x240cm. 95cm left of the door, where the shower is.

What would you do with this space? Also, any tiles/color scheme suggestions? We are thinking large blocks instead of traditional tiles, and light as it is a fairly small bathroom.

Also, there will be a small window around 30cm left-to-right on the right (outside) wall - where the sink is now.

Ceiling is 2.8m high.

Or, sink + wc/bidet (2 in 1) next to one another. And then a tall storage unit behind the door?

We also explored the option of having built in shelves (corner covered in tiles and with holes for storage) in the left corner - so shower is a bit shorter but there's storage space there for towela in the front and toiletries inside the shower. ?

Wow you really are starting from scratch here and looks like you need some space planning and design direction - it's really important to make sure your whole home is cohesive from the front door to the bathroom, when starting from bare walls - it's very easy to go off on a tangent!

Personally I would have this layout with a 1000x1000 shower cubicle. Unless whoever is going to regularly use a bidet I wouldn’t prioritise it for this compact space I would ensure the storage and the shower are good sizes instead
