I would centre the sink and have a larger window the width of the sink unit.

I would try to reduce the amount of wall units. Especially in a small space these really start to close it down. Open shelving would be better. or how about the below. Tall shallow cupboard in front of the bottom door for cleaning products etc. Folded laundry.

then oposite the door at the top of the image have a drop down airer and rail that can be put away when not in use. Will make the space feel much bigger.

large window central to right hand wall sink is actually more useful over to one side in a utility then you can use the rest of the worktop for folding clothes etc.

Thanks for your comments. Not quite sure what you mean about the sink and window. Are you saying to not necessarily put the sink under the window? Window still central but sink to the side? Taking away units defeats the object of having the utility room in a way if I’m only left with two useable cupboards?

I personally wouldn't. L-shaped cupboards in a small space take up too much floor space in my opinion. The far left corner is the perfect space for tall deep cabinets. You could fit a 80cm wide cabinet in there with double doors for all your storage needs.

I'm assuming you may want to hang things on a clothes rack and maybe install a wall of hanging rail for drying clothes. You'd have more options for that if you free up some wall and floor space.

Apart from cleaning products do you think you'd be storing anything that requires more cupboards (pet supplies, sporting goods, etc)?

Sorry there’s a few pics there wumi which area do you mean by far left corner. Yes I’d like to store our dogs food etc, cleaning bits and also maybe hang coats. An area for the dogs bed when we go out would be ideal too. The extra cupboards to create an L was the other halves idea but I do agree it would be too much. It’s such a small space would a large window be unnecessary? Also it will be a misted window looking out into a walkway down the side of the house so effectively looking at a wall!!

I really like Wumi’s layout. Could you put some open shelves where I’ve added yellow or have it as a spot to hang up the ironing board? and some coat hooks or a tall thin shoe rack where my red squiggles are? Alternatively, don’t add things that will accumulate clutter 😂😂 it’s really easy for utility rooms to end up as dumping grounds. The one thing I got right in my old (tiny) utility room was having plenty of sockets. I used to put the bread maker in there so it didn’t wake me up over night.

Doesn't need to have a massive window. The key is light. Even misted, it'll provide diffused light into the room.

The far left corner (boxed area) is going to house my stacked washing machine and dryer with a tall cupboard to the side to house ironing board. That’s the only bit I had decided on 😁

I mean I’m impressed that you’d already thought about having a home for your ironing board 😃. I think most people forget and it’s quite a large item.

The only other thing I would say is don’t totally rule out the corner cabinet idea if you can afford the type of internal pull and slide fittings that allow you to easily access everything inside. I seem to remember that they were ridiculously expensive but I could be wrong. Only you know much you need to store and how much space you’ve got in your kitchen.

I've just had a re-jig with the window. Must admit i do like this layout but i also get the point about losing a larger stretch of worktop by having the sink to one side. Not having sink under window would itch my soul! hehe

I think it might be if they weren’t symmetrical but your picture looks balanced.
