Need help with the layout of my bathroom
Comments (18)We are still working on our new house, there is currently a bath with a glass half screen that is totally useless. The water bounces off whoever is showering past the screen and over the toilet, the floor, the ceiling, and it's only a half tiled wall so the wallpaper is peeling. I've considered the P or d shaped baths which give a larger section at one end in which to stand when using the shower and I've seen there are matching curved glass screens to go with them. Two points to consider. 1. If you are not planning on staying a shower could be a good selling point, the water saving of a shower versus a bath. Our last bath hardly saw a look in during 16 years and although it was a lovely deep double ended steel bath it gathered dust and the shower was definately the go-to choice. 2. I am now considering the usability of the bathroom for an elderly relative who has had a stroke, likes baths, but may not be able to get into, or out of one, with dignity intact. I'm thinking that a large walk in shower with additional wall jets could be a good option and the upscale could be a wow factor. Although you may not be in the same position you can never have enough forward planning....See MoreBeige bathroom - help!
Comments (14)Hello Missy, I rather like the sink and loo as they work with the towel rail and tap fittings.. my suggestion would be to incorporate stone colours as Headers has suggested.. Then add some wood and natural elements for a classy, sophisticated bathroom.. Don't forget the power of an accessory! So firstly my suggestion would be to paint what wall is available in a stone colour, think natural earthy tones in chalky finish in a darker shade to the tiles to give depth to the room.. Do the same with the side of the bath if you like. I also don't think you need change the taps or bath and shower tap but one thing I would suggest is to replace the shower screen with one that is squared off and one that can be situated with a minimal fixture as opposed to the white strip so the glass is as plain as possible.. This would make a big difference.. What about considering a wooden seat for the loo... Perhaps a little wooden stool somewhere and a wooden bath matt would be rather nice too.. and then add some fabulous earthy spa accessories and Hammam towels.. So it's more about adding a little paint and bathing accessories to what you have to make it a more luxurious experience.. : ))...See MoreWin a bathroom makeover
Comments (8)We would love to win this competition as we currently have leaking plumbing, wood chip wallpaper everywhere and a shower tray from the 70s! We a baby on the way and it would be nice to replace this with a bath as we don't currently have one due to the house being set up for an older lady with disabilities. Having had to spend our savings on the roof to ensure we were watertight from the top down, we are scrimping everything we can to make small changes to the house as we go. I'm also the breadwinner (and due on maternity next year) so we won't be able to afford anything for a long time with my husband retraining - bills are just about manageable! We love Houzz and to have something special like this would just top it off....See MoreBland Bathroom - help needed!
Comments (5)You could choose any colour really with a neutral scheme although I like green to give some life to the scheme. I'd add some plants - maybe at the end of the bath & a large-ish palm type plant in a pit on the floor or on the boxed-in area to the right of the towel rail. I'd possibly continue the green colour into a blind (fitted above & outside the recess)....See MoreHU-475617048
