Not sure what to do with this fireplace. There is a window to right. Wondering whether to rip out the beam and open it all up then maybe clad the brick fireplace in brick slips. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
I think the wooden beam is rather lovely but the brick fireplace is dated. It’s the sort of thing that was added in the 1980s to many houses. Would you consider removing the brick fireplace?
You could have the space plastered and painted, then add an electric faux wood burner or biofuel stove. I can’t recommend a wood burner due to the pollutants it emits but lots of people have them. Something simple like this?
