I don't know about what the best flooring would be as I don't have a dog. But, how easy it is to change it will depend on how it was laid. If the flooring was laid after the kitchen was installed then it should be fairly easy. If the kitchen was installed on top of the tiles, then I would say it's going to be near impossible, without removing the kitchen first - my parents are in this position.

Do you mean 20mm rather than 200mm? I suppose where you *could* notice it would be around the full length doors, so that is something to consider. Doors would also have to be shortened and skirtings raised. Are you renovating to sell it? In that case would you be able to recoup the cost of the work back on the value of the property? If it is your place to live in, then I could understand but you do need to consider it is a hard job to get those tiles up and to level that floor. If you are laying wood the floor would need to be flat so all old adhesive needs to be removed, not an easy task. I would guess replacing with tiles would be less work as new tile adhesive would allow for minor variations in the floor. There is also the point that you don't know what you will find once you pull up the tiles - you could be find yourself getting even bigger labour costs for the job. Have you tried removing a tile to see how it goes?

I never thought about changing the tiles behind the sink area to start in a corner- that’s a good idea! I am looking to replace the sink as well with a wall hung vanity unit to give more storage. I’ve realised that the new shower will extend forward a couple of centimetres from the existing one so hopefully it might fall on the ‘join’ line if we decide to retile just that area. I think yes, you could replace the cladding with grey. However, replacing with Composite cladding would be much nicer. Maybe re-do the driveway and path. Fresh tarmac would look okay if the budget will not stretch to paviors.
