Living Rooms Design Dilemma Renovating

picture window help.

We have planned a picture window (floor to ceiling) 1590mm wide and 2100mm tall. The builder thinks the window supplier won’t be able to supply one without a bar (eg break into two frames). Hs anyone sourced a picture window this sort of size? Problem might be it’s upvc so might be we have to have aluminium but then wont match sliding doors! Eek!

Not the same size as yours, but I had a pvc window made for my kitchen that opens out from the bottom. The manufacturers told my builder it doesn’t comply with regulations so they couldn’t issue a guarantee with it. I asked them to go ahead anyway and 12 years later it’s still okay.

This is ours. It works well but both windows are on our longest wall. Not sure which wall you want yours on. Hope this gives an idea. The picture window is purely for light and view.

It should be able to be done. The upvc may need to be reinforced and the glass will be expensive. You may need to shop around. l’m aware of one local trader to us who would probably be able to source it
