If your dresser and bedsides are in a contemporary style I would suggest you go with a silver contemporary mirror. How about your bedside lamps? If you wanted to use gold as an accent then the mirror and lamps can be in gold. Basically using gold for your 'accessories'

I love those beds too, thinking of putting one in my attic room! It will depend on what else you want to put in the room. Usually the bed dominates most rooms and therefore, if you want a bold statement piece with fabulous bedding go for the dark grey, i think it's my favourite. However, the paler grey will keep the room looking light and airy and possibly slightly bigger than the bolder bed. What accent colours do you like?

I think you need a nice contrasting wallpaper to your headboard and not be trying to match the wallpaper to it. You don't want a beige room, there is nothing more boring. There are so many subtly beautiful coloured wallpapers I would try to go a little bolder. A duck egg blue perhaps, a soft sage green or a soft mix of colours in the paper and then you can pick different colours from it to choose light shades, cushions and a throw.

Victoria - how funny!!!! Ours is the back bedroom of a Victorian terrace. We’re doing 3 walls white and 1 in the de Nimes - the same one as you, behind the headboard! Although I like the Purbeck Stone and the Worsted, I think it’s maybe too muted and a different / more traditional feel against the crisp white. (Although i’m absolutely no expert!!!). I think we’re going to keep our inherited oak bed as it is and then possible go darker on the painted bits. We might even go completely opposite and head whiter.... Ours is just a spare room, so not particularly important or with any need to impress a teenage boy!!! On a slightly related matter, my son converted to a grown up room a few years ago and we kept it quite simple with Lamp Room Grey walls and white furniture. Keeping it simple has stood the test of time. My daughter (with the Purbeck Stone) had her room done about a year ago with more muted colours, including painted furniture. She announced last week that she already wants to change it!!
