White wall bedroom but which bed frame?

Hi everyone,

I've narrowed down my bed frame search to an ottoman bed and the colours are either slate grey or oatmeal.

The room itself will be white (just attached current colour) and wanted to get your views.

Would it be better going for lighter and adding contrast in other areas. Or would bed being darker be better?

I was thinking of having a collection of frames above the bed frame also to add contrast too.

I like both beds but I think it depends on what look you're trying to achieve and also the colour of the bedding you intend to use. I think the darker bed looks more modern as it creates the contrast whereas the paler bed will give a more relaxed, luxurious feeling to your room.

Hanging rail from the ceiling above one of the bedside tables. Possibly with a pulley mechanism, like the old laundry racks you can raise out of the way. definitely hooks on the back of the door. what about adding a picture rail you could hang clothes hangers from? Definitely add in a large mirror so the space doesn't feel small. Don't compromise on bed width! Use the height of the room to max effect so you don't steal floor space. So you could also wall hang bedside tables to leave space under for shoes and give the appearance of more floor space.

Hi Ryan. The structure is ok as long as you can control it :)...as I remember you have mentioned that this is not going to be the main bedroom and will have a sofa not a proper bed so I think the feature wall will work here. I wouldn't paint all walls grey because I think it will make your space smaller and darker. However all depends how you will decorate it afterwards. I would recommend to first make 3d rendering of your room and play with colours and furniture. It would save a lots of time.

Painting the walls a slight off white will help you to achieve a clean canvas without having plain white walls. After you have samples of the flooring try to match up your paint for the walls by going a few shades lighter. You can then add in colour by adding artwork on the walls and perhaps a rug on the floor to add warmth.

I love those beds too, thinking of putting one in my attic room! It will depend on what else you want to put in the room. Usually the bed dominates most rooms and therefore, if you want a bold statement piece with fabulous bedding go for the dark grey, i think it's my favourite. However, the paler grey will keep the room looking light and airy and possibly slightly bigger than the bolder bed. What accent colours do you like?

The room itself is quite compact and has a light carpet. Therefore I won't have much in there in terms of other furnishings but thinking maybe a walnut wood side table or two.

I quite like the idea of a coloured but tasteful room. Nothing overpowering.
