I personally would not use any brand of eggshell paint on a kitchen cupboard, it is not robust enough for the job. Gloss or satinwood is what you should be looking at. I've always used Dulux, but have recently defected to Valspar ( crown ) at B&Q due to issues with colour mixing, colour matching. We have just painted our utility room using this including plastic pipework. It's holding up great. ( Valspar for wood and metal is what i've used ) - Just get a good all round primer which will be dictated to by the type of cupboard door you have - The Armstead range of primers at Dulux trade centres is great paint.

Hi there! MDF is very porous so if you apply paint straight to it it dries incredibly quickly and creates a bubbled/uneven finish. I believe you need to prime it to seal it first, then sand, and then apply paint. As for types of paint, once primed and sanded I think any will do. Best of luck with the painting :)

what paint to give my cabinets. planning to paint the walls in logjt grey. the floor is marble tiles in grey. what color to give the cabinets. no whites please. im confused between medium dark grey.. taupe or greige..??

I imagine in that in a relatively neutral room it’s too much of a good thing and because it’s vibrant it sits uncomfortably with the elegance of the rest of the scheme. To match the room I would paint the cupboard and the alcoves in a softer colour - try a tester of Farrow and Ball Ash Grey
