Odd shaped bedroom, would love advice on layout and anything else.
Comments (5)Hi, my thoughts were take door off hinge and get a track to slide the door. This creates a new feeling of entry to the room optimising the space at the side also. You could have a desk as you come in to the room and the bed at the side, depending on the size of your unit, you could place it in the nook or at side of bed. Id have bed facing window for a nice morning view and natural light peeping through, depending on which way the sunrises and sets, it will be a beautiful scenery to look at, unless outside the windows a wall lol hope this helps. jodymorgandesign.com...See MoreAdvice New layout !!
Comments (3)Am thinking that the doors into the corridor and bath are taking up valuable floor space, leaving the corridor an underutilized space. If they could be switched to a slider, barn style door you could use the space maybe as dressing space with wall hugging shoe storage or if there is enough depth - add a closet. The front entry is a space which isn't doing double duty, if it doesn't compromise the entry door and heating, the wall between the entry and bed space could be taken down (with proper consideration to the construction), giving another area to work with. If you are going gang busters and looking to do more than just tweek, I would consider swapping the kitchen to the bathroom / closet area so that the living/ kitchen are what you enter into. You could then make more use of the entry area. The bathroom moves to the kitchen, so the bed/ bath are not walked through and are set at the 'rear'...See Morecan I have some advice on layout of kitchen for this space please
Comments (5)Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together for me, absolutely great advice and I would never have thought about simply moving the sink and making the window and door one large door. This would be lovely for us and make the room very light....See Moreadvice on layout
Comments (7)It depends totally on your lifestyle and I can understand your wish for your son to have a space to have his friends over. I always think it's a shame to reinstate walls which have been removed. If you like cooking socially then your plan is great. Everything can be in one room with the kitchen as a snug. It's striking a balance between accommodating a son and making the most of the house. I would leave the kitchen where it is which saves a bit of money and update it to suit you. I would consider screening off part of the lounge/diner with some sort of moveable screen so that it could maybe be pushed back against a wall when not required....See More- last year
