Awkward Kitchen Space
Hello. Looking for inspiration for my awkward kitchen space please!!
There are three doors off it +2 windows and the peninsula is slap bang in the middle of the room. Would love an island, but the space is narrow due to the pantry.

Would love to know your thoughts about how best to use the space.
Not bothered about having a dining table in the kitchen as have a formal dining room. It would be good to have somewhere to sit though.

Comments (16)I would put a huge gloss top table in the corner at the same height or a little lower, than your sofas. It would really suit a large bow table lamp with a wide coolie shade, and a couple of objet d'art to finish it off. Don't look at the colours below, I'm showing you the arrangement only. Based on your own room, choose a white gloss table, and add a lamp similar to the one I'm showing below in scale, but try to tie the colour of the shade in with your floor, to add warmth to a cool scheme on your walls and sofas.. Comments (12)Shauni's suggesged plan is good and allows a view out if you glaze or part glaze each door. I would consider adding a surface mounted sliding door to the loo to make it easier to navigate the space and let more light in. Could the washer and dryer not go upstairs in the cupboards next to your bathroom? Or has this bit changed? Comments (0)Hello! I’m currently playing with some ideas for our new house. It currently has a lean-to which is just being used as storage (plan attached). My initial idea was to remove the toilet and add a doorway into a utility space. This would only be a portion of the lean-to and the rest would remain as storage. But I got to thinking that we could turn the entire lean-to into living space, issue is the staircase would be in the middle of the house so creates a long thin room. I’d love to ideas on how we could make this work for us. The second photo shows the floor space once the lean-to has been knocked into. We will also be knocking down the wall between the kitchen and lounge as a first priority, moving the kitchen to a new space won’t be an option for us. Thanks! When replacing the kitchen, from left towards right and up: Tall built in fridge freezer, 45 dishwasher, 45 sink, corner Lemans with 45 door, 60 drawers, 60 cooktop+oven, 60 drawers, filler cabinet. The tall unit would block some view into the kitchen, but it is for a good cause (and fortunately you have light coming from all corners). Also use two heights upper units, so you'll gain an extra shelf on the sink side. Plain white will prevent it from looking odd. Lower units could be a different color (with white top?), whatever floats your boat. And you could add storage under the eaves, but not deep enough for workspace, and it would be hindered by the dining table. Besides, the open floor adds to the feeling of space, so I personally would keep it open....See More

If you would be willing to remove the build in pantry/ utility then you could easily create something like this.
Have a large island with seating, toon of prep-space and great flow.
Hob can be on the island or on the side run.
you can rearange the curent WC to accomodate the utility area as the passage to outside area is waster space. . swap the window for door, and now u have a direct access from the kitchen dining to outside.
