Any ideas to optimise space?

It’s a Victorian converted 1-bed flat with extra high ceiling. Would you change this layout or do you think it’s best as it is? looking for some ideas for this small flat! :)

It looks pretty efficient use of space to me..there are of course different ways to but in my opinion, they would be arbitrarily different, costly to implement with little benefit.. it's a matter of Decor really..

You mentioned extra high ceilings, so you may have opportunities there, by having high feature walls with storage or feature pendant lighting to add drama to your space. Or dramatic wall art? Have fun with it and express yourself. These can make small apartments have a big impact when done well.

If the ceiling is really might you may be able to build a mezzanine above the kitchen and bathroom

Just buying this one bed flat but need some ideas please. On a very tight budget but love sourcing items from anywhere to save on cost. Hello, Every room needs a purpose - a function. I would begin by giving it a purpose. An idea of what you want to achieve out of the space. My initial instinct would be to create a relaxing, calm and light office space with lots of storage (this would hold the toys). The alternative is to create a play room.. With the office I would do a more adult, neutral pallet (working from the white) and would create a full run of built in units that go from just under the window down the the ground. This would be deep enough to hold storage boxes of toys and books. A desk could come out from this unit (about half way down). I would then mirror a book shelf either side to give it symmetry and order adding to the calming effect. I hope this helps. I’d convert that into a storage box that can double into an extra bed or chill zone for catching some ‘RAYS’. You can have a custom made fluffy topper if you prefer. It would have been great to see the rest of the room too ok get an idea of what’s missing or can be added. That space has got lots of potential.

Hi Larders are for storing so deside what you would store keep it very cool Yor half way there tiled wall great measure up for 1 or more for the side so you can turn around in & out & 1 or more deeper shelves to back just run them over the window with a plinth at the back note slate is a great choice it keeps cool A little expensive but here's the thing no bracket no screws just 1x notched out wooden post to the front corner Some good messurments this can be achieved by a rod cut to the length for. the shelf length less 2 to 3mm & use a product like EBT by SIKA to stick the 20mm slate to the tiles sides & back where its flat on the tile & not the bevelled part of the tile Level & prop in posion Give sealant time and some to cure take props away & you got seamless cool shelves with 1x corner post this is not a job or the fant hearted but it is so easy

An extra high ceiling is great, I would just enjoy them! You could update the bathroom although no pics so apologies if it has already been renovated. You could replace the bath with a shower including hand held attachment. I think the kitchen could be changed if you wanted to. Removal or part removal of that wall would tie it in to the reception room better and you could add an island to replace lost storage with loss of the wall. You could possibly also remove the wall and door in the reception room section of the passage. You would have to get structural advice for this and probably leaseholder's permission as well maybe planning permission and building regs.
