Hello 81bec, I like to suggest the word "Textures" So if you have grey and white as a colour theme then add to this to layer the look.. Think concrete bar stools and chairs and textured flooring.. Could be Encaustic tiles, Concrete screed or even a parquet in several shades and interesting design, chevron or a more traditional herringbone which works beautifully in an arrangement of styles to the very contemporary.. It could be a mix of any one of those as tile and parquet would be lovely as would tiles and concrete screeds.. The options for you really are endless... With the doors and skirting.. bring them into the scheme... So give them colour too.. That way you actually have far more choices as you have included every aspect of the room.. Or keep them as is and add more woods here and there.. So maybe warm woods as accessories and bowls or other lovely pieces you'd find in a kitchen.. With the vaulted aspect you have space so make the most of this and lighting can be a key contender too! It sounds like a very exciting room and one you'll no doubt want to spend a lot of time in.. A somewhat less formal than usual chesterfield would be lovely... See image attached with other suggestions I have made above.. : ))

I love both, and they each have their good points and are suited to different settings. As a designer, though, I often prefer the Shaker designs - I don't know why, but they often seem to provide a bit more scope for creativity! Caldicot Kitchens

The ideal place for your terrace would be the top corner just under your blue house. A good design would make a nice link and journey to the terrace. As for size, you need to decide what you want on the terrace. If just for eating allow enough space around the table and chairs so that people can walk around comfortably when people are seated without falling in to the plants. That bit bigger is always better. If you want some loungers as well, try interlocking two large squares of paving with a different paving material to the edges to add a bit of interest.

Sorry, not taking enough care when reading! I would paint the inside of the arch and the sill the same colour as the wall so it disappears as much as possible. I also agree that buying 2 mirrors is going to be an expense that would be valuable in your own house buying pot! Another idea is to look out for a big rectangular wall hanging of some sort or box framed print that would cover both of the arches and the wall between. I am thinking along the lines of a Kilim rug that are quite light weight for their size. eBay would give you a few ideas and be within budget without breaking into your house buying fund.
