I still want to kill my DH over the guest bathroom décor. I wanted an "Italian vampire raises from its tomb" theme: large black tiles for floor and some walls, the shower and rest of the walls in these superb handmade glazed Italian mosaic tiles I found, similar to this: I had my eyes on this black high-gloss bathroom vanity, with red toilet seat - it would've been glorious!! I paid for everything, came home excited with samples and... disaster: hubby went ...red, he called his brother and mother, even my sister, as reinforcements, and started the attack! Apparently, it was 'too scary', too much Dracula or kitschy brothel like (they couldn't decide and made me wonder how do they know what a brothel bathroom looks like), too "dark and gory" and they were all "genuinely horrified", as the guests would've been (in their opinion) ... boring people.... Anyway, I went back with hubby to the bathroom shop, to find "light and classic" and, as a joke, I showed him the 'swimming pool' glass mosaic - he liked it and, as they say, the rest is history. So now we have a nice, practical and totally boring guest bathroom, that apparently doesn't horrify the guests (just me!)

If you're comfortable with the colours, then stick to it. The last thing you want to do is create a living room that you don't feel at ease in. I agree that the colours seem a bit flat, so try just adding bolder shades of your current colour scheme. We'd stain the table a darker wood colour, such as walnut to add a striking feature and play around with the furnishings. You can instantly change the feel of a room with pillows and throws, and since you already have a beautiful array of them, trying changing them slightly by adding new colours with dye. Try upholsteries (or purchasing new) table lamps to something a bit more playful and exciting. Finally, that table centrepiece is screaming for a bright bunch of flowers, like tulips! We'd love to see what you choose.

Agree with the need for some colour in cushions and artwork especially, but I also think you need some plants. If you’re worried about looking after them there are lots that are virtually indestructible e.g. succulents

@lisamarie1000 it looks like you've got quite a blank canvas to work with there but as well as giving lots of opportunities it can also be quite daunting if you don't know where to start. As a starting point I would look at where the sun falls in the garden as this can be important for growing vegetables and the greenhouse which need to be in as much sun as possible. Draw a plan to scale of the garden and use cut out shapes to represent the different areas (growing area, play area, sitting area etc.). You can place these on the plan and move them around until you get a layout that you are happy with. The size of the shapes needs to be big enough to represent what their use is. You can also base this on the dimensions of the house such as location of windows and doors. Try to avoid pushing everything to the edges as this can just draw attention to the boundaries and make the space feel small. Think about how you would move through the garden to get to the different areas. If you are going to have a path through, it will be more interesting if this isn't just a straight line down the middle. By making the route through have changes in direction you can add focal points (such as the apple tree) and make the garden seem bigger. If space is tight consider growing vegetables mixed in with ornamental plants so that the garden doesn't look like an allotment. Finally think about using screening with tall plants or trellis at various points so that you don't see the whole garden at once. This can also make the garden seem more interesting and enticing.
