Hi Sharon Laughlin, I would usually like to actually see the space and front window to be able to answer 100% ...but I can tell I have proposed this layout on several similar properties layout packages as it is a very good use of space and the times you use the space actually means it isn't too bad with 'on lookers' or lighting to have it this way round. Choosing the right window dressing can help with any concerns but having a great and usable space inside (where you live) is vital. I would be happy to take a quick look and offer an opinion (free of charge) if you wanted to email me your plan and a picture of the room (gina.everett@createperfect.co.uk). I know it seems like a head ache now.. but it will be worth the additional consideration time in the long run rather than just settling for something because it is the 'norm'. All the best, Gina

I agree with you, if you want the garage to blend in, then it needs to match in with the brickwork, or maybe it's surroundings, ie the planting. So a beige, beige/ green, sage etc I can't blow the pic up enough to see the windows and soffits / fascia's. Looks like they're a stone colour, so maybe match to that. I don't think your front door needs to match everything if you do want a bit of colour. It's a personal thing isn't it, so whatever, you like that would go well with the rest of it, a grey would work with the beige / sage/ greens etc.

Good afternoon everyone! We are blown away by the amazing response we have had from this community, thank you everyone for your feedback. We are especially grateful to Jonathan for his valuable feedback.. the idea is genius and makes so much sense! Thank you so much Jonathan for taking out the time to help us! I have never seen my husband so impressed by an idea so much!! I have attached a couple more photos showing view of the garage from the front of the house along with the entrance gate itself into the property. I have also attached a copy of our floor plan. We would really appreciate your thoughts on what we could to with the garage and front exterior in terms of: Garage walls - What do you think about the brick work? Worth keeping, or should we clad? Garage roof - We currently have an unsightly metal sheet. We don’t want to fully rebuild but we’ve seen light weight roofing for garages which look like tiling. Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Front exterior - We’re looking to improve kerb appeal of the house from the front, any ideas welcome (cladding, paint, stone work?) Windows - these are the original single pane windows which unfortunately come with poor insulation. Any thoughts on what to do for those? Further to the front patio suggestion, is it worth installing an entrance which leads straight into the kitchen through the current ‘Study’? See floor plan. (We are planning to extend the current kitchen by a further 2.5m towards the rear garden). Any ideas, suggestions and comments will be really appreciated, thank you for your help!

Hi, this house looks lovely. It all depends how much you want to spend doesn’t it! I never read anyone‘s advice first so if it were me this is what i‘d do: 1. Love, love and love the wood cladding so keep it! This is me remember. 2. If you can afford to reglaze the window without the georgian effect I think that would make a massive difference to the front of this. 3. Land scape the front garden - the front door and approach needs to be clearly defined as I had to look twice to see how to enter the property front or side door. 4. Unless you plan to garage a car each day fence off the side path in line with the house thus further defining the front door as well as offering extra security to property. 5. Remove the 70’s swingers pampas grass. Good luck
