Sofa (not really a futon) is by Ligne Roset (modern furniture of the highest quality made in France) -- queen sofa that pulls out to a flat bed with clean lines that don't signal 'bed'). Purchased in La Jolla, many retail locations + online).

I like the design of these these pillows, but if you use them you will have to lose the curtains IMO. They don't have anything in them to tie them to the wine color, and they need that if you're keeping the drapes. If you could find something like this with the loopy, modern flowers similar to the rug, but with some wine in them and maybe some orange, you would have the tie-in that you need. Or - you could use this as one of several mixed-pattern/mixed-color pillows and tie in all your colors between all of them. Here is a photo of a room where they've used some inexpensive pictures and pillows for spots of color: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_dnu7DoNodKk/SwLKsMQhQOI/AAAAAAAADUQ/8CQYiBcASmk/DSC02945_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800 And here is a pillow that might pull some color in: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58686323/two-new-handmade-16-inch-modern What I like about it is that it has the loopy flowers reminiscent of the rug, but has the color from your other wall and a third color for interest. I think the edges of the flowers is magenta, but since computer screens can be off that is something that would need verification. If so, it might tie in the drapes in a minor way. Use a variety of patterns on pillows and use only one floral. A little goes a long way there. Note the collection in the room photo above. In the end, you have to like whatever you put in the room, but don't be afraid of color. Choose things that make you feel happy when you look at them. A couple of questions: What part of the world are you in? And have you ever sewed at all?

Hi there, Houzz is a platform for home renovation and design, so we don't sell any products ourselves. However, we have lots of professionals and suppliers who list their products in our directory. You can browse some futons [here[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/products/futons-and-futon-accessories-prbr0-br~t_14252). And sofa beds [here[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/products/sofa-beds-prbr0-br~t_15079).

Hi Melanie. I would keep it painted white and go for the copper theme. I think it's a good idea to swap to blinds. I think it's important for a small room to let in as much light as possible so may consider a roller blind. If not, have a look at these. http://www.blinds-2go.co.uk/roman-blinds/16335/ankara-dusty-rose.html I would add pale grey and blush pink to the scheme hence the blinds! What's opposite the window? Could you add a large copper mirror for more light and to give it a spacious feel? You could consider some good faux flowers for the window sill. For the desk a copper lamp and perhaps just a couple of accessories so as not to clutter. Can the shelf above the bed be removed? You could add some large cushions to act as a headboard. You could also add some art or stencils behind the bed to draw the eye up which should hopefully make the room feel a little larger. What's the ceiling height? Is there a pendant light as you add some interest here. Could you have a go at re-covering the futon? I seriously cannot sew but "re-covered" my garden sofa cushions which look fine from the front!

These are all great thanks so much, lots of food for thought, I think it's hard to imagine your own house any other way! It's not currently a drive, no. We have 2 parking spaces to the front of this area. Currently there's a side gate and pathway next to the house, then a very large shed that needs pulling down, with a patio and small lawn behind that. Not really used it doesn't catch the sun much. So really dead space. I like the idea of the two storey smaller extension as could open up the front of the space to be an extra space for a car as well. I need to get outside with the tape measure as I'd definitely prefer to keep a gate and pathway down the side to access the back garden. Next to that is a wire fence and then school grounds so no close neighbours to annoy that side.
