A side return large enough for a garden.

Using every part of the available space - including the overlooked side return - really unlocked the potential of this garden. By creating clever slight lines, maximising the space and creating purposeful areas (all designed and built with meticulous attention to detail) the garden now feels bigger, more airy and is a joy to spend time in.

The raised bed having grown up just a few weeks and it's showing how vibrant it's going to feel to live with.

Finally the pleached trees arrive and fit through the tiny hallway to settle in their slot. Once they fill out they will hide the back view and make it feel more enclosed and green.

The smaller trees are in. Crab apples grafted on dwarf stock mean they will stay to an appropriate size for this garden whilst giving all their oompf with blossom, autumnal leaves and apples lasting well into winter.

Mouldy and dark but surprisingly wide side return leads to a broken deck that no one uses. With a small family about to get a bit larger this is crying out to be better used.
