• The existing kitchen was small and with limited storage and dated equipment, and old fashioned design, not reflective of the client’s lifestyle.
• The client’s wanted to combine the kitchen with the adjacent dining room to create an open plan living space that would also be an area to entertain friends, tying into the light-filled conservatory.
• We also talked them through different options for layout and storage that would be suitable to family living as well as a social experience, producing a detailed and realistic budget before the real work could begin.
• The family moved out of the property for a few weeks to enable the renovations to take place, which were quite disruptive and included removal of all the existing kitchen units, tiles and floor coverings, as well as demolishing the adjoining wall.
• As the process required significant building works, we met the whole build team at the outset to discuss the plans and the process of the fitting and build programme. We also ensured we were regularly onsite to project manage the process.
