One of our most recent projects was for a young family who were embarking on a renovation project on an Edwardian house. The client was already a Control4 user in his current home, however, the system was aging and a both system performance and features had moved on; the current home had only audio and video control.

What started out on the initial brief as a cinema room project, soon evolved into everything smart home with this tech savvy client who allowed us to take control of the technical aspects of the project. We knew the current offering would provide much more for the family in terms of convenience, so they now have a full 'smart home' including lighting, security, HVAC and audio visual. The property was stripped to a bare shell to allow us to integrate the latest technology into this stunning (now future proofed!) home.

At planning stage we were able to provide a mood board and 3D renders to enable the client, interior designers and other trades involved to visualise the end result. Prior to installation, we invited the client to a demonstration facility room to get a feel of how the finished article may look and feel.

We were fortunate enough to be given space to design a dedicated cinema room and be involved in the engineering of the area - something that turns an average cinema into an outstanding one. The cinema includes a Sony 4K projector nestled into the eves with luxury bespoke acoustic panelling, fully motorised plush cinema seating for up to six and Dolby Atmos surround sound delivered through Triad speakers providing the highest quality immersive cinematic experience. We were able to create a dedicated usable family space where its movie night every night!

Full lighting control throughout the house was paramount, including DMX control of the exterior colour changing lights with set moods that complement the season. We made life a little simpler and smarter for the family as now they have full control of their smart home including security, locks, heating and access at the touch of a button.

Not every element was purely functional, we installed a stunning custom chandelier that falls over three floors, adding the ‘wow’ factor on every level.

The family were elated with the finished project. We have been able to use technology to enhance their lives and make everyday elements such as security and heating control a little simpler with the use of a smart home technology solution such as Control4.
