This garden had a narrow paved area along the back of the house, and steps up to a lawn. In order to make it more of a sociable space, the steps were widened, and a patio built on the sunny upper section of the garden. Sawn sandstone gives a cotemporary feel, and the old brick beds were rendered and painted.
The side garden was repaved and some simple planting added to smarten it up.
