Eastern Beach House
A new family home, overlooking Eastern Beach in Auckland New Zealand.
The form is conceived as a simple suspended timber mass, containing the bedrooms and a private living area, supported on a series of precast concrete walls, which define the living and service spaces to the ground floor.
The timber form to the upper level is then penetrated by a series of horizontal and vertical voids, to visually break up it’s mass. Leaving a delicate timber screen where the form has been deconstructed.
