Full Renovation of Victorian Apartment – Mid-Century & Art Deco Interiors
This apartment presented many spatial challenges, which we turned into opportunities to create a practical yet glamorous home. Our aim was to introduce mid-century and art deco design elements into the Victorian building.
Living Room:
The open-plan living and dining area benefits from large windows that fill the space with natural light and reveal the original flooring. Light pink walls, navy velvet curtains, and a vintage pink velvet chair add a touch of glamour to the room.
Kitchen:
The small kitchen was brightened with lighter walls, surfaces, and cabinets to create an illusion of space. An unused fish tank was removed and replaced with custom shelves for maximized storage. IKEA carcasses were paired with bespoke doors from Swedish company Superfront to balance quality and cost. The worktop was crafted from an innovative material made from recycled yogurt cartons, offering a high-end finish. Luxury fixtures and fittings complete the space.
Bedroom:
The slanted bedroom was kept simple to maximize space, with bespoke wardrobes designed by Celine and crafted by a specialist carpenter, offering ample eave and closet storage.
