A contemporary apartment block near St Ives with amazing views towards the beach. With a limited budget - we removed and replaced all internal doors, built a new kitchen with improved layout, removed built in wardrobes, built a bespoke window seat, added new flooring throughout, changed all switches, sockets and door furniture to brass, skimmed walls and ceilings and decorated throughout. We styled the whole apartment so that each room has a personality but that the rooms flow nicely. In the living room we let the view be the feature of the room, toning down the walls and flooring to contrast the blue of the sea. The owners wanted a contemporary but calm retreat with bedroom flexibility and privacy from neighbours. We added a blurred film to the expanse of windows along the hall, and in the bedrooms designed double-roman blinds so that the light can still enter the rooms but they are private. The bespoke fixed headboard allows for easy switching between twin and super-king bed configuration.
