Lady Tritton’s Garden is a hand-drawn wallpaper collection created for a country house interior in Wiltshire. Developed as a family of related patterns, the collection brings together botanical detail, embroidery-inspired drawing and decorative motifs designed to sit naturally within a layered English interior.

The hero pattern was built around a garden composition of birds, butterflies, insects, snails and flowering stems, giving the room movement, charm and a sense of personal story. Alongside it, Patterned Design created companion designs — smaller florals, ornamental medallions, vine patterns, stripes and textured decorative repeats — so the scheme could move from one space to another with rhythm and variety.

Rather than treating wallpaper as a single surface treatment, the collection was developed as part of the wider interior language of the house. Scale, colour and pattern density were considered in relation to the rooms themselves: their proportions, beams, windows, soft furnishings, light and existing textile references.

The artwork was created from original hand-drawn motifs and developed through repeat design, colour work, sampling and print preparation. The aim was to create wallcoverings that felt personal to the house: detailed, expressive and full of life, but still refined enough for a considered country interior.

This project reflects Patterned Design’s bespoke approach — creating custom wallcoverings that can begin with a single idea and grow into a complete decorative collection for a private home.
