Extension of a Californian bungalow in Malvern to create a private sanctuary for a family of five. Site constraints were used to cleverly dictate the design and the client’s desire for modest spaces resulted in an unpretentious and environmentally responsive home.

The clients wanted to maximise light into every room so the interior design is based around light and dark spaces and the use of durable, high impact materials that will withstand the daily pressures of family life. Dark surfaces framing green spaces highlight the connection to the garden and opens up what are otherwise compact spaces.
