Multipurpose Garden Room With Veranda - Wiltshire

The client and his wife approached Swift looking for an area to socialize and relax in. The inside space was to hold a mixture of comfortable chairs, fold-away gym equipment and a TV. They also specified that the inside area should completely open up fully to an outside area with an overhead cover. consisting of an indoor space 6x3 and a covered outdoor area 6x2)

The garden room is built on the site of an old greenhouse with an electrical supply already available, in an elevated pitch overlooking their house and garden as well as the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Full planning permission was gained as the main house is a grade 2 listed property in a conservation area.

“The main purpose of the garden room is as a sunny relaxation area - the plot is at the top of a fairly
steeply sloping garden in an area that faces the setting sun, with good views over the house to trees
beyond. Therefore the design should take maximum advantage of this.”

As you can see from the photos our designers certainly managed to do this. The room is angled perfectly to follow the boundary wall and take advantage of the beautiful viewpoint. A sleek blend of red western cedar and white render gives the garden room a contemporary feel and sets off the trapezoid side window perfectly. The floor levels between the internal and external areas match and a low threshold door system is fitted to achieve a continuous indoor/outdoor feel.

Here’s what they have to say about their gorgeous new garden room:

"It’s great to find a company like Swift that places such a high priority on customer satisfaction. I considered several other garden room companies but wanted something different from the standard design produced by many; Swift offered a more bespoke product with designs that showed originality and imagination..."
