The natural swimming pool was designed to be hidden in the shade of trees at the bottom level of the garden. The designer also added a wood fired hot tub on a terrace further up the garden which overlooks the pool.

Digging the hole for the pond was a challenge as we could only get a small digger into the garden. In addition, we had to do the dig in the depths of winter in wet and rather treacherous conditions.

In total, we removed over 300 tonnes of spoil from the site in a two-week period filling 17 lorries. All spoil from the dig and the site had to go out through a winding garden path that climbed the valley-side.
