The island acts as the central hub around which kitchen life revolves – from food prep, to catching up on emails with a cup of coffee, it’s designed with multi-purpose use in mind. The Lacanche has the classic five burner hob together with a static electric oven with and a convection electric oven – both with grills. Either side of the range cooker are counter-top cupboards – to the left hand side is an appliance cupboard housing the Kitchen Aid mixer and other handheld appliances, while the right hand side cupboard is using for coffee and breakfast items. The beauty of countertop cupboards is that they can conceal smaller appliances like toasters and free-standing coffee machines etc, which leaves the counters clear of visual clutter resulting in a space that feels calm and uncluttered.

The bank of Nickleby tall cupboards to the left of the island house the tall crockery cupboard, the column Miele refrigerator and Miele freezer as well as a Cook’s Pantry. Integrating the cooling appliances behind the Nickleby cabinetry helps to ensure the calm and collected feel to this space. The corner of this L-shaped kitchen has open artisan shelving for storing cookery books and provides additional worktop space to the kitchen.
