Reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis, the inspiration behind the name of these tiles, the Raku Aurora contains an explosion of jewel-like tones including emerald, crimson, violet and copper. Traditional Japanese techniques have been used to achieve the rich tones and give a vibrancy to the tiles. The sudden cooling of the tiles, once they have been removed from the kiln, causes crazing, which dances across the surface of the tiles.
