Recent Kitchen Project in Heswall

Located in Heswall, tucked away amongst a pine woodland.

The project was an extension that opened up the rear of the house into a large open plan kitchen with a small cosy area.
The client was looking for a modern contemporary living area, with a smooth, linear feel, with zoned area's for different practicalities.
Colour was kept simple with Acrylic White Gloss, Handless Doors with Hacienda Black panelling in the leg space to the breakfast bar area to add a hint of depth, this was carried through to the cosy area as a feature panel that framed the TV area.
Infiniti Morning Frost Quartz was used to complete the look and continued up and over the window sill. As a white quartz with silver glitter effect, the idea was to keep colour simple, with mind to accessorise with purple kitchen ornaments.

As the kitchen was designed to feel open and airy, with space to be used for regular day-to-day cooking but also for entertaining large groups, the island was the focal point of the design. Made to feel grand yet simple, it perfectly wraps around the main work area with a 90˚ L-shape. This encapsulates the kitchen zone and brings all prep workspaces within easy reach. Coupled with the breakfast bar coming round the outside corner, it is perfect to entertain whilst preparing meals.

To aid the openness of the space, a Neff Downdraft Extractor was used to reduce any visual obstruction that ceiling chimneys cause.

The appliances bank consists of two Neff Pyrolytic ovens either side of a Neff Combi Microwave. These were housed between a Neff Larder Fridge and Neff Larder Freezer, perfectly adding to the simple Linear effect.

A small refreshments area was added next to the entrance of the utility area, perfect for function evenings, were guests can help themselves to drinks.

The sink was a Blanco Andano 1 1/2 bowl under-mount with a BlancoEye mixer tap. This area wrapped around the wall in an L-shape which serves as the main preparation area. Due to the slope of the ceiling, it was decided that low, wide bridging units would work best to add that extra bit of storage, this style followed through with wide, deep pan drawers around the base units.

To compliment the colour scheme of the kitchen furniture and worktop, Villeroy & Boch, Townhouse Grey tiles were. These kept the tone of the kitchen theme, whist the grey vein added just a slight contrast to stand out from the rest of the scheme.
