RESIN FLOORING NORTH EAST RESCUES HOME OWNER AFTER COWBOYS LEAVE DISASTER ZONE
Resin Flooring North East Ltd were asked to attend a North East home owners property after the family were at their wits end after two botched attempts by two different companies to install a waterproof decking system to the roof of their house extension.
The home owner who wishes to remain anonymous stated that after the first installation the waterproof decking system blistered and debonded from the wooden substrate. The company came back to carry out repairs but things went from bad to worse with the company admitting they were out of their depth and should not have taken the job on in the first place. Deciding enough was enough the home owner made the decision to appoint another company to carry out the works. This proved to be a big mistake after the family were left in tears and a leaking balcony roof deck after company number two left a bigger trail of disaster than the previous one.
Resin Flooring North East who have been installing seamless resin flooring systems and seamless roof coatings and decking systems since 1987 sympathized with the families plight. The Resin Flooring North East team sprang into action the same day. The whole deck which measures 80m2 was stripped bare of defective coatings and various other media. The 18mm marine ply the defective coatings were applied to had to be removed too because it was beyond repair and soaking wet. The debris removed from this space filled two large skips.
Resin Flooring North East installed a new 18mm marine ply substrate to the deck. All the joints in the wooden substrate were filled with a flexible high strength sealant. The whole area of the wooden substrate was then primed with a fast curing resin sealer. On day two of the operation the whole area was completely covered with a woven fabric encapsulated in fast curing resin and fully bonded to the 18mm marine ply substrate making the roof deck completely waterproof.
It was just as well because the weather turned against us before Resin Flooring North East could install our state of the art top coat. A black seamless flexible anti slip polyurea roof coating and decking system. There will be another day for that but the family are relieved that their ordeal is over so they can now sleep at night knowing their property is water tight.
