West Sussex Modern Beach House

This was a 2 year project of building this gorgeous modern beach house in West Sussex, and then decorating and furnishing it. We designed all the fixtures and finishes, joinery, flooring, lighting, bathrooms etc. We wanted to balance the modern architecture of the home with the clients more classic aesthetic - creating a warm coastal look with clean lines.

We put bespoke crittall style pocket doors in the living room (towards the study) to allow light to flow from one room to the next and add another architectural detail. The neutral and blue scheme feels coastal and layered. Love the parquet top coffee table, and bronze touches in the room.

For this end of the study, we fitted a bespoke day bed in a bright red fabric to complement the rich chocolate brown walls, adding a mix of scatter cushions in warm tones to make it extra cosy. At the opposite end of the study is a grey wood sideboard. Above it sits a large, traditional etching with grand frame and bronze picture light. A red ceramic urn lamp ties in with the colour scheme, reflected also in the upholstered desk chair, with neutral tones blues and reds.

Wall art for the bunk bed room in the form of fun framed official nautical flags, echoing the theme and colours of the curtains. Additional elements were incorporated through the nautical knot drawer handles and natural textures via the wicker table, lamp and chair.
