A really helpful article, thank you. We have recently moved and our back garden is wide but not deep. Our back fence belongs to our neighbours and Is painted dark green by the previous owners which is really overpowering and 10-12 ft higher than our garden. I’m reluctant to paint it black and still am not sure what to do with it!

Great article. I've never seen anything on wider gardens so it's been trial and error for me along the way. Some great ideas there I'll be using like geometric paving/planting. Black fences and less colour on the plants! Thank you.
