Exactly what I've been searching for, though I've got the biggest garden on my street.. The whole streets Messy business meets in a soak away reservoir in my garden, we get horrible public toilet smell early hours of the morning and all day in the summer, I've started sprinkling peppermint oil in corners of the house. Thanks for the article.

another trick i've learned recently: put used coffee grounds in a glass or bowl. it scents the air, and absorbs bad smells. change it frequently. this works really well next to book-shelves, if you have old, musty books [as i do].
