About Us

Treske make beautiful kitchens and fitted furniture at their workshops in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. The workshops and extensive showrooms with showcase a wide range of kitchens and furniture, are within an historic Maltings built in the 1840’s. Whether you are looking for a contemporary office, shaker style kitchen or traditional fitted bedroom, we can create fitted furniture that suits your taste, lifestyle and home! The team at Treske offer a kitchen design and installation service which includes your custom kitchen design, manufacturing in our Thirsk workshop, installation by our in house fitting team, which includes appliances and worksurfaces and kitchen installation management. Each kitchen and piece of furniture is made by our team of skilled craftsmen, lovingly hand made to order and customised to each customers individual requirements. Treske was founded in 1973 by John Gormley, brother of the sculptor. Since 2000, under the ownership of Justin Bartlett, the business has expanded carefully and enhanced its reputation for excellence. Treske upholds traditional values of superb materials, fine craftsmanship and talented designers, recognised by the award of the Manufacturing Guildmark by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.

We are delighted with our new kitchen by Treske. The attention to detail is faultless. The fitters were prompt, extremely tidy workers and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. From design to fitting we were treated with the utmost respect. The overall experience was excellent. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I would not hesitate to use Treske again.

After moving from a house with a previous Treske kitchen, I knew that I would want one in my new home. I like the natural look of Treske and the excellent customer service that comes with it. I was immediately drawn to this particular kitchen from their showrooms. The rich colour of the oak was something that I could see complimenting my home, creating a warmth that now permeates throughout the house. This may sound odd, but the drawers are very easy to use which is very useful for my age. And the details of the carving (the tulip and the V&A) added something more to the kitchen.

What a fantastic company. Justin took myself and my husband on a tour of the workshops so we could see pretty much from tree to kitchen ! Julian went above and beyond .. not only in terms of design but also in communication, often speaking to me in his own time at weekends and even when he was on holiday! If you are looking for a spectacular kitchen with a service second to none then look no further .. Treske is the only number you need

We have had excellent service and a great experience from the Treske team from start to finish. The designer took the time to really understand our needs, gave helpful advice and quickly produced computer based 3D drawings of fitted wardrobes, a media unit and a kitchen display cupboard. We then had the opportunity to modify these so we got exactly what we were looking for. The two fitters were absolutely meticulous and took enormous care. The end result is that we now have a number of well designed, beautifully fitted pieces of fine furniture, at a cost that we believe is good value for money. We are going to use them again for some home office furniture and highly recommend Treske.

We used Treske when completely renovating our kitchen and my home office. Writing a review some 10 years after installation may seem strange - but it is testimony to the quality of the workmanship, the care and the after-service. The designers helped focus our thoughts on how both areas would actually work for us and created a design around our needs. The manufacture and installation coped with our old farmhouse (not straight!) walls and we have enjoyed every day since, because of the quality of the work. Contacting them recently (for an additional project) it was interesting to see that many of the faces & names are the same as those from years back. Again, probably a tribute to the working ethos & culture of the firm. I have no hesitation in recommending Treske for their professionalism & the quality of their work & feel sure they will still be there to assist us with any project in another 10 years!
