To answer your other question about the use 2 different forms of lighting in a kitchen diner.... You can always look for lighting ranges that offer various sizes of similar designs. But choosing different designs is nothing to fear of as long as it's matching in a way. For example, colour or a detail element. Just as an example you could adjust this to a height of a semi flush and and pair it with a larger light in grey finish and / or with crystal details. Dear cjc, kiki, & dorset -- these are fantastic ideas. I have found several options that come close thanks to your comments. I've made a collage of some faves. (The small dark pewter pendant (x 3 over kitchen island) is the shape I am trying to co-ordinate with). It's 7 inches in diameter (looks bigger in the collage; it's not to scale) Let me know if you have a view about which 'cloche style glass pendant' option works best. Thanks again.

Ok so this may sound stupid and I have no idea if it can be achieved, I am sure a lot of tradesmen on here would laugh but I’m trying to think outside of the box for a shoestring budget. So I’m a major fan of ikea hacks, you can customise furniture for so little money and you really can be quite creative. As for faking Crittall Windows........ providing this is for internal aesthetics only I would love someone to experiment with this idea in a man cave. Use the black powder coated aluminium pax wardrobe frame from ikea and get a glazier to cut the glass to required size using the ikea inserts as a template. Obviously your door widths would have to be increased but this could work against stud partitions in large apartments to separate areas of space maybe? U can all laugh at me now!
