Guy Taylor Associates

We were contacted by Chris from Guy Taylor Associates after posting a small extension requirement on Houzz and were impressed from the very first conversation. We wanted the extension to be in balance and character with the rest of a 1930s house which has many of it's original period features and ideally for it not to look like an extension at all. Chris was thoroughly prepared for his initial visit, interested in the whole house and not just the extension area, asking many questions and making notes. He was meticulous on detail and even noticed aspects of the original design that we hadn't previously noticed ourselves! He had, and suggested, some of his own ideas but also made sure that he understood our preferences too and made us aware of minor considerations arising from current building regulations being different from those of the 1930s. He provided us with different design proposals, including 3D images to enable us to visualise the extension clearly, and then worked with us to tweak them to a final design we were happy to proceed with. The design exceeded our expectations and showed great sensitivity to the character of the house. Chris was exceptionally responsive and helpful throughout, we have been delighted with his service and would not hesitate to recommend him. He also recommended some builders and we did proceed with one of these. The work is now finished and we feel we have achieved the objective for it not to look like an extension. Shout out too to Amy who was also involved in our project.

We are absolutely delighted with the redesign of our kitchen and the ground floor of our house. Chris Rodgers was wonderfully creative in his design and used the space to make a beautiful, light modern reinvention of what was a rather tired Victorian house. We couldn't be happier with the result.

Chris really helped us set a vision for our project and then work out the layouts to realise it. He was always professional and a pleasure to work with.

Guy Taylor did a great job for us designing our 2 story extension for our little cottage and getting it through planning etc. We had quite a check list that we wanted to include and Cara at Guy Taylor gave us some great plans and ideas to choose from. They solved problems and came up with a design we would never have thought of without them that checked all the boxes. We wanted a modern extension but one that fitted a pretty old cottage. Everyone was very helpful and patient. They did all the technical drawings and were able to help us find structural engineers, tree and wall surveyors etc. the finished plans are more interesting and exciting than we had envisaged and they understood all our requests and listened to what we wished to achieve. The work is due to go ahead this summer and we cannot wait!

Chris, the owner at Guy Taylor Associates did a fantastic job designing our remodelled house with a vaulted ceiling, a new apex at the front and so much light! Guy Taylor Associates assisted us with our office expansion which was effectively a blank, empty space requiring full design and specifications from the ground up. After a full briefing, Guy Taylor Associates came up with great ideas and plans to create a practical and viable workspace for our business. Chris was always available when we needed him and kept a close eye on the builder in terms of budgets and deadlines which was really reassuring. And they have provided an exceptional service to date. They have translated our requirements into the most brilliant design and one we feel so incredibly lucky to have.
