Realistically, just paint the bottom black; it's the easiest solution without creating more work and no extra benefit.

The OSB isn't bad. I'd paint the bottom and be done with it. It's not attractive and there isn't much you can do to make it attractive without spending way more money than you'll get back. Paint the bottom and be done. I don't think that cork, vinyl or carpet is going to make a difference. If you do a great installation, the improvement will be marginal. If your DIY job is mediocre, you'll have made things either worse or no better.

There are many, but probably "Crazy". I've learned the hard way that karaoke audiences generally don't appreciate Tom Lehrer.

I just coat the inside of the measuring cup or spoon with a little oil and it all slides right off.

The flavor in dried is stronger (if it's appropriately "fresh" for dried). Fresh fresh is more complex and pungent. The issue with thyme is the young shoots they sell in the little boxes in the supermarket are just so tender! You can use them whole or chop lightly. The green stems usually taste much like the leaves. Or grow a pot of your own and pick the older, stronger stems. Those, you just hold the tip, pinch the top of the stem with your other hand's thumb and finger, and pull down to the base. Most of the little leaves come right off like pulling a zipper. Even moreso if you wash and let dry first.

Same with oregano, but it's easier to begin with on the tender stems. I grow both oregano and thyme, as well as teragon, sage, Mexican oregano (not the same plant as the European oreganos) and a few others. I use fresh from the garden for throw in a frond of this or that, as whole leaves, etc., but I like dried for sauces and sprinkling, as well as mixed. Fresh in the egg salad. Dried in the spaghetti sauce.

Fun “fact”: 🤓

China and the United Kingdom hold the top spots for extreme parallel parking, home to the drivers who set the official world records for the tightest spaces.

The street where DD lived in Melbourne was an old narrow, one way, mid-1800s street with a lot of terrace houses, few of which had driveways or garages. Parking spaces were at a premium, all parallel parked of course. Garbage truck days were a worry as there was barely enough space for the truck to go down the middle and many cars (DD's included) were sideswiped at least once.

Some years ago, we had a beagle. Max. He would eat anything and everything. He ended up having to have a benign growth removed, and he needed a pill qd. post op. We visited some friends and brought him with us. When it came time to give him his pill, I offered that he takes it very well when it's wrapped in a slice of cheese. My friend gave us a slice of the only cheese she had...fat free...lactose free. Son-of-a-gun, he turned up his nose in extreme offense, and left the room in a huff. We laughed for hours.

A search I did described that series as "heavily fictionalized" and "historically inaccurate". Although I guess while using the real names as a starting point for characters and the storyline it wanted the production to follow.

We have an independent bookstore in our small town, which is kind of amazing because the population in the whole shire/county is about 3,600, many of whom are not readers, though we do have two small (10-12 members) book clubs which have been going for decades.

Down in the city DH and I frequent three different independent bookstores, because they have a lot of books that are out of the mainstream, which we tend to prefer.

I prefer bookshops to ordering online because I can see a lot of titles that pique my interest, whereas searching though online bookshops, not so much. I will order online if I have a specific title in mind, which I've got from a book review or personal recommendation.

I love bookstores. Hard to find any these days.

A couple of months ago, I paid $6 extra for a book sold (ordered) by a brick and mortar store (via phone) rather than buy from a well-patronized online vendor.

@petalique I do the same thing If my local independent doesn't have it, I order from them. Not giving my money to that guy.

I freeze home made baked beans all the time, they come out fine.

I usually make large servings of curries, casseroles, spaghetti sauce etc and freeze the extra after dinner. Soups I do the same. My homemade soups often are just a vegetable sauteed with a chopped onion and then simmered in an appropriate stock, then pureed with a stick blender and a little cream added. If the vegetable is broccoli or zucchini, I will add a good sized dollop of pesto as well. Tomato soup often has chopped bacon (fried off in the pan first, then removed and the onions and tomatoes sauteed in the bacon fat, the soup pureed and then the bacon added back into the soup). Minestone is a favourite, as are mulligatawny and cheddar corn chowder. For pumpkin soup I roast kabocha squash and onions, then saute a tablespoon or so of curry powder in a large pot and add the vegetables and chicken stock. After pureeing I add a can of coconut cream.

Stir fry dishes also freeze well, as long as you avoid vegetables that don’t reheat well, such as broccoli florets.

I save the thick stems of broccoli and cauliflower, and peel them and then dice them to use in stir fries.

My mom used to make pizzas from scratch and freeze them ahead of time. Red chili or green chili freezes up nicely. I used to make breakfast burritos, 64 at a time and freeze them.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

@bpath, that was a regular thing we did back when I was in university :-D Once we went in costume to a showing at the local airforce base- one of the group was in the airforce. We also went as a group entry in the masquerade at a national science fiction convention (I was Magenta :-D). I can remember doing the time warp all the way back to the car afterwards, and it wasn't a New Year's party without doing the time warp :-D :-D :-D

DH and I went to see it on stage when we were dating and went to see it on the other side of the country for our 25th anniversary. We've also seen it a couple more times since then when there's been a production we could get to.

bpath Both my kids when they were teens were very much into Rocky Horror in the early to mid nineties. They belonged to a local cast. DD played Janet for several years and DS did lighting ,tech ,and security. I just looked it up and a couple of the casts are still active today in San Francisco. In fact, DD was voted best Janet at Rocky Con in Vegas one year. There will probably be a lot of tribute performances around now that Tim Curry has passed.

I don't care for the genre of music she was active in but I respected her accomplishments. I also remember that she was generous with charitable giving. Not seemingly in an insincere "look what I did" sense but rather publicly only when (as it appeared) motivated by trying to show her actions with publicity that would hopefully set a good example for others to do likewise.

I remember hearing of her program to provide free new books each month to young children as a way to help them develop a love of books and reading. That's surely a case of putting your money where your mouth is. She didn't complain about the literacy problem, she acted on her own to correct it. Bravo to her, I hope it continues to live on.

Edit to say - That's a very touching family message. Dignified.

If you want to kill mold, spray it with vinegar. Bleach will kill mold on a non-porous surface, but vinegar will kill the parts that penetrate into a porous one.

From what I can infer, there appears to have been 15# felt installed over the paper-faced fiberglass batt insulation and stapled to the studs. I think what you're seeing is some deterioration in the paper and some transfer of asphalt from the 15# felt. The studs look dry and mold free.

Since you're redoing the shower, I suggest you remove and replace the insulation.

I do use cornmeal on my peel. So I always have some cornmeal burning on the floor of my oven after cooking a pizza. Part of the ceremony.

I use the stone for lots of other baked goods as well.
