The description of the curtains is linen, from West Elm.

I looked online at West Elm and the linen color looked darker than the curtains in this picture. They did show white canvas - but that was not your description of the curtains. Also what is the rod color? Gunmetal?

The curtains are white linen from West Elm. I haven't checked lately to see if they still have that colorway. The rods were kind of a gunmetal or oil rubbed bronze color. We replaced them with acrylic rods, which are much easier on the eye. Thank you for your comment!

Personally I wouldn't add curtains. Roman blinds to cover the top half of the windows is an option to consider.

I LOVE the last light and I think something like that will be perfect over the dining table. I can't order from West Elm as your voltage is different from Europe's but I'll try to find something similar. Thank you so much! We had planned to put three different Tom Dixon beats above the dining table but it is all too much so we need to find somewhere else for them. I have tried the table with the orchid on the other side of the Horseshoe Chairs but that leaves a strange corner and somehow it didn't work. I don't think I want too much near the fireplace as it has a lot of stuff around it already. I'll take a photo and post it up here.

We’d definitely recommend plains, patterns come in and out of fashion, whereas colour is timeless. Choosing a plains with a great texture also adds some sophistication. I’d go for oranges and yellows, they’ll really compliment the teal. I know what you’re saying but I’d choose a blue, just a paler one than the ones on the mock-ups that have been kindly provided (how lovely to do that)…so not a grey, but the paler side of blue. Added bonus is that all the trends for living rooms at the mo seem to be going along the blue route!
