Ceramic or porcelain tile will do very well. Laminate can "puff and die" inside of 6 months! I've seen it. It isn't pretty. The closest you will get to "click together" flooring = 100% vinyl flooring. The vinyl is water proof...the joint is not. There is still a chance that moisture (water or humidity) will reach the subfloor and begin to rot it out from underneath the floor. Be safe = ceramic or porcelain tile properly installed. I think you can work with a cooler tone in the bathroom. One of the design benefits with bathrooms is they can have their own "presence" in a home. They do not need to be identical to the rest of the home. They can carry the theme...but they are allowed their own flare. Go with something that is visually interesting. It can be a breath of fresh air if the rest of the home "all one look".

Hello Emmeline, Well... I'd have to say probably anything that isn't my current... Hasn't had a AJ Eye makeover sadly... For products I really love Aesop, Ortigia and for the look... I'd say marble wet room floor and wall to ceiling with a large square really plain wall hung white sink and wall hung loo. If it needs it a plain sheet of glass as a screen but otherwise nothing.... Nickel taps Lefroy Brooks or Watermark collection Zen with marble round disc taps or the London range wall mounted.. An old style radiator in nickel plate or painted to look like old silver.. possibly a little wooden stool.. Marble shelf built into the walls and a hidden marble door with shelving for other bottles and cotton wool balls.. Very lastly an old white venetian glass mirror with little glass flowers maybe.. : ))

Hi. I'm a bit confused, have you bought the vanity and are looking to paint it? Is the rest of the bathroom fitted as you could add brass or copper taps for instance with a matching mirror? Accessories will also warm it. I like a little wooden stool in a bathroom which you can add accessories to i.e. A candle, natural sponge, flannel etc which has some texture. A plant on the window sill if you have one and then nice accessories for the sink and either some coloured towels or I like hammam ones. I've found a couple of pics but they may not post as houzz has issues :( These are using deep rich colours which may bring the cabinet towards you a little. A darker top for the vanity would also work

Steph I really like the vanity unity design, however as you mentioned that there is very little space and having a unit like in the photo you won't be able to utilize the space underneath it too much. I also noticed , that you already installed new window so not much you can do about it.Depending on the wall length( where you planning to have vanity unit) , maybe an option with semi recessed sink and wall hung toilet would work?like in the photo,but there are plenty of examples on the houzz https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/london-wembley-modern-bathroom-london-phvw-vp~115845783 you would free up the space under the window and could have radiator there Good luck and look forward to see photos once it's finished
