HI Im just extending my house to make the kitchen into a family room. Struggling with fitting it all in , What are the dimensions of this wonderful room? Thanks! B

Unfortunately We can only provide the measurements of the kitchen area which are; Kitchen area only occupies space approx 4198mm long x 3448mm wide. N. B. This does not include the dining or living area space, Hope this is of some help.

This is an option where you both have separate spaces. Don't know if this is what you want. It is possible. Is it possible to move the entrance, cause you said that there is an extra room that is not on the plan. If that's the cause, you could move the entrance so your brother would get a bigger living room. Let me know what you think.

Hiya - can you advise if the wall in-between the existing and proposed areas will be taken down or will you have a wall in between? Reason being is you could create a children's area along one of these walls but it depends if they are coming out or not. If not I think the other thing that you can do is have a shelf unit something like the Kallax shelving unit from IKEA where you can add cute baskets and effectively have a play area there. Throw down a matt and there you have it! Removing lots of walls has cost implications plus you may loose original features such as coving. Furthermore local fire regulations may prevent you getting rid of a safe route from bedrooms to the front door avoiding the kitchen where most fires start. If it were me I would be employing a designer or concept planner to help visualise the options- this is likely more cost effective that exploring with your architect. If you use this type of service they can help you explore what you need to live..... this might be storage, laundry facilities, room to work, insulating sound from bedrooms, containing cooking smells, taking advantage of light or views. It is worth considering the rest of the accommodation in the apartment too.... for instance if there is only one or two bedrooms you might decide to create an extra bedroom in this large space to maximise the resale value or swap the bedroom area and living areas if there is better sun elsewhere in the flat. However given the available information I might consider this layout

Hello E D Thank you for the comment and questions. The washing machine is located in the tall units to the right. With hanging space above it and small compartment for the vacuum hoover. The boiler is in the wall unit next to the window to the left side of the kitchen. Kind regards Inga Kopala
