Swarovski Crystals in the Bathroom! Yes or No?

There are so many products out at the moment featuring Swarovski crystals. From showers to mirrors they are everywhere! So the question is do you like them? or are they tacky?

I love them!

No its very Essex...

And it would also depend on the general style of the bathroom

For me it’s maximalism. Lovely in a quirky cafe or boutique hotel but at home it would give me a headache. I like a restful house and so yes quite a lot of it is grey! Not battleship grey or anthracite but bluey or greeny greys. Concrete floors. Depressing, cold, ecologically not great, look unfinished. Plants very high up. How do you water them? Walk in wardrobes even if it means the bedroom becomes tiny. I’d rather have a bigger bedroom with wardrobes in it, than dress and sleep in tiny spaces. Uber industrial. There’s a reason we usually hide cables, conduits, vent ducts...because they are ugly. Buying new furniture and accessories very often to have an “up to date“ look. I see all these instagram pictures with everything brass, mid century, wood, rattan, green (today’s trends) and I wonder what has happened to all their grey, painted, silver, shabby chic items from 5/10 years ago. And what will they do with today’s items when the look swings round again...

shari39 yes you're right. I've done this a couple of times now. Just attach it with a bead of clear silicon around the edge of the glass, ie. hold the glass in place, and then apply the bead around the edge.

We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Here is the photo from my kitchen door - anything attached to the walls were already there from the previous residents and will be removed... such as the mirror which isn't in line with that hideous folding table and the strange religious wall in the corner.... plus the half finished wallpaper on the chimney breast lol. x

I think that small so does in the 80's and 90's were due to poor glass technology and energy requirements? Not sure about the 70's though. my Mum's 60's house has huge windows that were once aluminium framed and so how glazed. freezing until my parents double glazed it. anyway, old and grim trends: carpets in bathrooms, those Swarovski crystal animal ornaments, grey bi-fold doors, wood-look upvc windows, shiny black granite floor tiles, stripy wallpaper up to a dado rail, ornate tile borders at rail height on walls, paisley carpets.

Personally, I think it looks slightly tacky for me, I prefer a more simplistic, contemporary approach in oppose to too much glam ( a little is fine).
