Grey floor with oak kitchen cuboards???

Does oak go with grey floor n if so wot colour work tops? Or should I just get cream n play it safe?

Im keeping my dark brown wooden floor now lol, need ideas for colour on walls if poss? My kitchen is oak n having jamocha work tops

If a grey is made up of black + white it can be very cold. However, if a grey is a de-saturated grey of a colour such as Dakar or Lamp Room Grey then it can make things easier. I would opt for a floor that has some warmth, without a doubt. Don't forget, whatever you choose now may be with you for years, so I would avoid the 'obvious'. As the flooring is potentially one of the most expensive parts of the scheme, make that your focus. Grey units and white worktops will look cool, so you can afford to go for something warm with the floor. This could be tiles in a buff colour, tiles that are terracotta (I would bet money on these making a comeback), patterned tiles or wood. Mandarin Stone has some lovely buff concrete style tiles, Porcelanosa has amazing patterned tiles and Topps do one called Sculpt is a buff colour worth checking out.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. You get so involved in the process that sometimes you forget the ‘project’ is your home ! Next project is the utility which we cancelled as part of this phase as we were just going to tidy up the existing small utility room but decided to open it up to make it bigger incorporating the adjacent wc and small internal hall combing the 3 small rooms to make one decent sized room. Updates to follow for anyone that is interested.

Hello, it’s funny but warm cream shades fell out of favour when grey seemed to take over the world of decor for many years. I like a warm, buttery cream but I struggled to find images of it used with grey kitchen units. I managed to find this pic of a grey DeVol kitchen and cream walls. Love the way it’s teamed with wooden shelves. As to paint shades, I’ve used Dulux Ivory and Dulux Elderflower Tea in the past, as well as Almond White. Lovely warm neutrals. i also wondered whether changing the cupboard doors to something more to your taste may improve things? There are lots of companies that do this, and I noticed even B&Q sell just doors too. Just a suggestion.
