i love the fretwork design in the door and would love to do something similar in my master bedroom= please let me know if you can share the resource

Gone through my album of our very own decorating therapy journey and found these. I hope you can see the roller black-out in the first photo, it's tucked inside the recess of the window. The Duette is a peachy colour which looks a lot lighter colour in the north-facing sun. The one in the five panel window is the room below, it does not have the roller blind but the curtains are black out. They are not as efficient in blocking out light as the roller in recess though. the curtains are from Hamilton McBride, only reason i got them were because not many wide (350cm) curtains are cheaply available on Amazon... If your room is not too cold, you can also consider wooden venetian, mine is in white colour as you can see from the 'blue room' (it's F&B's new Vardo btw), which is on the ground floor of the north facing side. 247 does oak colour too. Many neighbours asked us where we got those from!! They look great at a good price - those two windows cost me just under a £100 - but they are not the most energy efficient. They are okay blocking out light but if you have it in the south-facing room, it might not be quite enough. Do go to 247blinds and request some free samples, it's worth a try. Hope this helps! ;)

hi, my sister in law has a very similar sized kitchen to u and shebhasbso much storage she even has empty cupboards!! she put her sink infront of the windowbwith the hob opposite, to the left of the hob shebhas a tall unit with her ovens in it and the otherside she has her fridge and then 2 base units and 2glass display wall units. on the far wall to the right of her sink she has wall units, and to the left of her sink she has a stretch of worktop similar to ur plan which leads to a peninsular island that steps down from her worktop height to create a table. would love to see some pics of what plan you go with and the finished result

When we had out new hard wood windows and French widows done, first we had a sales - man in this instance, come out to us and discuss what we wanted. We didn't need to have placed an order beforehand, that's what he came out for - to make a sale and take out order! Sending a salesman to discuss what you want is key to doing business! They can't hedge their bets on the off chance you may not buy anything, if you choose not to go ahead, that's just par for the course in the life of a salesperson and the sales cycle! When he came, we discussed everything we wanted to do (and anything he wasn't sure about on the technical side, he said he'd check and get back to us) took rough measurements and to all intents and purposes it was at that point we then placed the order, but we needn't have done so. After we paid an initial deposit, the measurer came out. He was more technical and provided the final sanity and possibility check for what we wanted and specc'd it all out. On the other hand, when we ordered our Panoramic doors (similar to bi-folds but different) they initial contact was by phone and internet - we gave them rough measurements of the size we'd be looking for and the colours and additions we wanted and they gave us a quote. They did however, have a mobile showroom that could have come to visit, with examples of finishes and options and will come and discuss your requirements. But as it turned out, we went to their show stand at the Homebuilding & renovation show instead to discuss it. We paid a refundable 10% deposit initially. Once we had the opening created, they sent a chap along to do precise measurements and to button down exactly what we wanted to have. We then paid 80% for them to make the doors and then the last 10% when they were fitted. So I just don't understand why they're not willing to come out. That's how most salespeople make their wages! If they can't be bothered to come out, don't use them, find a company who is willing to come out to discuss your requirements and perform a site survey. One thing though, I know some window and door companies, only fit to existing openings and won't do any re-modelling work, so you may have to find a builder if you want opening made bigger or moved and then the doors/windows can be fitted.

The original kitchen was quite cheap (can’t remember exactly, but I designed my extension to be 5.8m long with the kitchen in one long line. This mean that that I have 4 x 600mm units either side of a 1m long range. I went for plain cupboards to keep costs down - no fiddly extras! At the time, I couldn’t afford an “in-frame” design. When it came to the make-over, I priced up new replacement doors with companies like Dream Doors (nightmare - after spending an entire morning in their showroom, they refused to come out when I said my budget was under £5k!!!). I also liked Naked Doors and Shaker Doors online. They were pricey though... in the end I thought I’d bite the bullet and buy the doors from someone on Etsy. I think it was going to be about £2k. I then found a carpenter to get a price for fitting the doors. When I explained what I wanted, he said to forget the doors and he would make entire new fronts. Painted and fitted, it came in under £1.5k, which I thought was a bargain!!! Depending on where you are, I can highly recommend him. (I’m in the East Midlands). When I spoke to him, he said he did entire kitchens from start to finish for a very reasonable price. I’m sure with a bit of googling, you could find someone local... where are you based?
